AFYREN NEOXY is dedicated to the first industrial production of AFYREN biobased organic acids, made by transformation of non-food biomass. These natural organic acids and their derivatives are innovative and effective solutions for the cosmetics, aromas and perfumes, human and animal nutrition and fine chemicals sectors. AFYREN NEOXY, partly through the resources provided by AFYREN, will be the Project coordinator, responsible for the construction of the first biorefinery until its ramp-up phase.

GERMANY

Südzucker AG is the one of the world’s largest sugar manufacturers and suppliers and one of the leading companies in the food industry. Südzucker will be in charge of feedstock management with the supply of molasses, sugar beet pulp and of some extent vinasses.

FRANCE

Technip Energies is a technology-oriented world class engineering company proposing a wide range of services from process design and conceptual studies up to full EPC projects. Technip Energies is active in various fields including chemicals, petrochemicals, life sciences and bio-sourced chemicals. Technip Energies will set up the engineering documentation for the flagship plant, including the basic and detailed engineering design for the esterification unit, start-up operations, and support Afyren Neoxy for the first operation years to improve the operation of the flagship plant. Technip Energies will also develop a Licensing Process Design Book for future plants.

BELGIUM

Kemin Industries improves the quality of life by touching half of the people of the world every day with nutritional products and services for food and feed. Kemin will evaluate the bio-based carboxylic acids from the flagship biorefinery’s for their food and feed transformation processes and applications.

FRANCE

As leader in biobased fertilization, TERRIAL adds value to agricultural and agro-industrial by-products and urban waste, transforming them to nourish plants and fertilize soils. With sustainable, customized solutions, TERRIAL meets all the needs of French agriculture: the needs of markets, terroirs, and territories. TERRIAL will bring the best value to the potassium co-product obtained through the industrial process of the plant. Our ambition is to provide sustainable fertilization solutions through the valorization of quality biobased ressources produced in France.

GERMANY

Sphera is the leading provider of Integrated Risk Management software, data and consulting services with a focus on Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S), Operational Risk Management and Product Stewardship. Sphera will perform, following a holistic approach considering people, planet and profit, the Life-Cycle Impact Assessment and the life-cycle costing analysis. Sphera will assess the circularity of the products using the material circularity indicator. SPHERA will also assess the social impacts related to the construction of the projects’ flagship, bio-based products and related applications.

FRANCE

Bioeconomy for Change is the French cluster dedicated to the Bioeconomy. Bioeconomy's activities focus on supporting the development of the bio-economy in France and Europe and more specifically in the regions of Hauts-de-France and Grand Est. Bioeconomy for Change will assume jointly with PNO the Exploitation & Dissemination activities to promote the project to a wide audience and to facilitate the replication of the flagship facility in other European countries.

FRANCE

PNO Consultants provides various support services to private and public organisations with innovative projects. PNO will ensure a successful and smooth running of the project and to further maximise and replicate its results.

SWITZERLAND

Firmenich is the largest privately-owned company in the perfume and flavor business. Firmenich will evaluate nearly all carboxylic acids to confirm their performance in Firmenich's own processes and applications.

FRANCE

Fiabila is the only nail polish manufacturer with worldwide-based state of the art installations allowing its customers to access clean, green, safe and regulatory compliant products manufactured under the most exigent environmental, social and ethical standards.

FRANCE

SUEZ is a world player dedicated to water and waste management, pursuing its international growth by reconciling sustainable development and profitability. SUEZ will provide new feedstocks to be tested, demonstrate the potential of replication and its economic interest. SUEZ will also evaluate and characterize the generated fertilizing products through its dedicated JV company TERRIAL.

NETHERLANDS

Celanese is a global leader in the world of chemicals, organized around two complementary cores, the Acetyl Chain and the Materials Solutions. Celanese will validate economic and technological suitability of bio-based acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomer and carboxylic acids in specific end-uses and applications.
