Technip Lyon has a long track record and proven experience in engineering bio sourced projects and has performed the preliminary studies of the Afyren demonstration plant.

Role in the project

Technip Energies will be involved in commissioning and start-up of the flagship biorefinery, working in close collaboration with Afyren Neoxy. Technip Energies will lead engineering activities of the esterification unit and will support Afyren Neoxy in procurement and construction activities of this new unit. Technip Energies will set up the engineering documentation for the flagship plant, including the basic and detailed engineering design for the esterification unit, start-up operations, and support Afyren Neoxy for the first operation years to improve the operation of the first of its kind flagship plant. In parallel, Technip Energies will develop a Licensing Process Design Book for future plants. The Process Design Book will be revised to integrate the feedback of the construction, start-up operations and first year operations.
