Looking back on 2022: the best of AFTER-BIOCHEM
The members of the consortium can boast of having had a year 2022 punctuated by many successes. In this article, we would like to take a look at some of them.
September 29, 2022 – Official inauguration of the plant
More than 200,000 person-hours were needed to complete the construction of the plant. A construction completed on time and on budget, despite the impact of the health crisis. In total, it took 20 months for AFYREN NEOXY to open its doors on September 29, 2022, with the participation of officials from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU).
September 28, 2022 – High-level workshop
« How can bio-based chemicals contribute to a more sustainable world? » That was the theme of the high-level workshop held on September 28, the day before the inauguration. The audience of members of consortium, IT solution providers, construction companies, innovation and engineering partners, customers, financing, recruitment and training organizations were able to hear from experts from Südzucker, Kemin, Firmenich, Suez and Sphera.
Awards
2022 was prolific in terms of awards. This emphasizes the quality of the project and its innovative solutions.
November 8, 2022 – Resource Management Award at the Tech For Good Awards
Tech For Good Awards is organized by BFM Business and France Digitale to reward French start-ups that use technology and innovation for the common good. This award represents the recognition of Afyren’s work to decarbonize chemistry on a large scale while keeping a local approach.
November 14-15, 2022 – New Services Award at Suez Innovation Days
AFTER-BIOCHEM received this award at the SUEZ Innovation Day. The New Services award recognizes the quality of the partnership between Afyren and the SUEZ teams involved in the project.
